Principal's Letter
Welcome to a new school year at Jefferson Elementary School. We are pleased to have you with us. Our goal at Jefferson is to provide an exemplary education for all of our students in a kind, safe environment. We are proud to be an AVID Showcase School. This designation indicates the level of excellence reached school wide in proven strategies and procedures to prepare our students to be college ready. We believe every child can achieve academic success. To this end, every child will be provided with quality instructional experiences that recognize, support and maintain high expectations for all students.
Parent involvement has always been important at Jefferson Elementary School. Students benefit from parents who play an active role in their child’s education. We hope that you will choose to become involved by volunteering in the classroom or serving as a member of one of our parent groups. Welcome back parent meeting information will be coming.
As we work together throughout the year, I encourage you to stay in contact with your child’s teacher. Through teamwork, open communication and dedication to continuous improvement, Jefferson will continue to be a school where each child is challenged, nurtured and provided with a safe and stimulating learning experience. We follow PAWS (Polite, Act Responsibly, Work Together, Strive for Success) as our guidelines for behavior management. We believe that the first step for students to excel at school begins with respect for themselves and others, and pride in their school.
It takes a team to help each student reach their maximum potential, and I am confident that together, every student at Jefferson will be a champion in learning!
